FAQ

Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

What is DTG (direct to garment)

DTG stands for Direct To Garment and transfers artwork/graphic design file image directly onto a t-shirt or hoodie of your choice.  It works much like your ink jet printer at home but instead of printing on paper – it prints on clothing.  It has revolutionized the apparel printing business because there’s virtually no set up time involved, and you’re not limited in terms of color pallet or number of colors.  It prints two colors with as much ease as 8 colors allowing quick turnaround time on requests.

Will you help me create a design?

We can provide some helpful links to direct you to various sources that will assist with graphic design to bring your ideas to fruition.  We can assist with sharpening/enhancing an image however the product is only as good as the file we receive so it’s important to ensure only the highest resolution graphic files are used.

I only have one shirt I’d like to print – can you do it?

The answer is most definitely YES! no minimum quantity order as many as you need!

Just email us your high-resolution .png file along with your shirt selection, size, quantity, location for placement of design & required date and we will provide you with an estimate.

I have 250 shirts I’d like to print – can you do it?

Yes– the image/number of colors in your design will determine which printing process we use.

Can I supply my own shirt (s)

The short answer is no. Extensive testing has been done on our printers with various qualities of shirts and through process of elimination, we’ve selected garments that will print best and allow for optimal results.

Not to worry – we’ve taken the guess work out of it for you.  Simply tell us what you had in mind, and we’ll send you some links that will be sure to fit your taste. We offer brands like Gildan, Bella + Canvas, Just like Hero & many more.

I’d like to place an order – how is payment handled?

Payment is made in full after your approval of the design.

Preferred method of payment is Etransfer, but we do accept all major credit cards.

Can you do Pantone color match?

Our Brother GTX Pro is a 4-color process printer and as such we cannot guarantee a specific pantone color match, we can however provide you with the closest match that will suit your needs.  If Pantone is required, our screen-printing division can get the job done for you.

How do I get my order after it is printed?

You can come to our location at 43 Grenfell Crescent in Nepean, ON K2G 0G3 (located inside the Red Diamond Screenprinting entrance) or you can send a courier to pick up your package.  We can also provide courier services for a fee.  Please note, we cannot deliver to a PO box.

What is the difference between DTG & DTF?

Direct to garment can only be printed on a specific fabric – mainly cotton.  Direct to film is a process that involves printing onto a piece of specialized transparency film which can then be transferred onto a variety of fabrics or other textiles.

What is the difference between DTF and Sublimation?

Sublimation is the opposite of DTG and only works on white polyester – it needs a synthetic substrate or treatment on a cotton shirt to work

DTF can do many different types of materials – not just cotton, but polyester, synthetic or silk.

Looking to print on another textile other than cotton?

Look no further – our DTF option allows you to have your design printed on various other textiles such as polyester, synthetics, silks and just about any other material you can think of!  DTF does not require pre-treatment and provides excellent wash resistance.
